Gas Line Repair at East Market and Plaza Street Successful;
Site Clean Up Will Impact Tuesday Morning Rush Hour
Intersection expected to completely open by 7:00 a.m.
Leesburg, VA (January 10, 2017 | 3:30 a.m.) – At approximately 3:00 a.m. this morning,
Washington Gas crews completed repairs to the gas line at the intersection of East Market
Street and Plaza Street. However, clean up of the repair site, including backfilling the trench and
temporarily patching the road surface, will not be finished before the beginning of Tuesday
morning’s rush hour. Drivers should expect delays and may wish to use alternate routes.
All lanes should be open and turning movements restored at the intersection by 7:00 a.m. this
morning.
Work to patch the road surface permanently will be scheduled in the near future.
