SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Attached are the seven proposals received for Prosecuting
Attorney services. All of the proposals have been reviewed by staff and are presented here in rank order: Richard K. Linville, Dunn Law Office (Larry M. Dunn), Matthew C. Williams, J.
Scott Dowdy and Richard R. Clarkson, Dodge Law Offices (Shari A. Dodge), Denise L. Rosen, and Myron Dan Gabbert.
Staff recommends that the Council either:
Select one of the highly-ranked
respondents and direct staff to finalize a contract; or
Interview three respondents – Richard K. Linville, Dunn Law Office (Larry M. Dunn), Matthew C. Williams – and direct staff to
negotiate a contract with the Council’s preferred respondent.
If the Council elects to interview the respondents, it is unlikely that a contract can be finalized before August 1, when
our current contract with Jamie Shropshire expires. In that case, staff recommends that a contract for temporary Prosecuting Attorney Services be negotiated with Moore, Smith, Buxton
& Turcke.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Select one of the highly-ranked respondents and direct staff to finalize a contract;
or
Interview three respondents – Richard K. Linville, Dunn Law
Office (Larry M. Dunn), Matthew C. Williams – and direct staff to negotiate a contract with the Council’s preferred respondent and direct staff to negotiate a contract for temporary
Prosecuting Attorney Services with Moore, Smith, Buxton & Turcke, effective August 1, and authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents.
