A Room to Grow Preschool Registration Begins at Ida Lee Park
Recreation Center
Leesburg, VA (January 13, 2017) – The Town of Leesburg Parks and Recreation Department’s, A
Room to Grow Preschool, located at Ida Lee Park Recreation Center will begin registration for
the 2017-2018 school year on February 7, 2017 for Leesburg residents, annual passholders, and
alumni families. Registration begins February 14, 2017 for non-residents.
The program offers classes for 3 to 5 year olds. All classes will be held Monday through Friday.
Morning classes for 3 and 4 year olds will be held 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and the afternoon 4
year old class are schedule from 12:15 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. The mission of the preschool is to
provide children with a well-rounded program in a positive, supportive, and safe environment.
This is achieved by meaningful and interesting experiences which will develop the child’s
cognitive, social and physical skills through age appropriate, hands-on activities.
An Open House is scheduled for Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to visit
the classroom, meet the teachers and get more information about the program and what it has
to offer.
The program is licensed by the Virginia Department of Social Services and includes activities
such as circle time, indoor and outdoor play, phonics, pre-reading, art activities,
numbers/counting/math, science and cooking, music and movement, and social studies
awareness. Swim lessons are offered to students in the four-year-old programs. Applications
