SUMMARY STATEMENT: Representatives from the Idaho Department of State Parks and
Recreation approached the Transportation Advisory Committee on September 1 to seek the City of McCall’s recommendation in regards to nine park entrance alternatives they had devised
for Ponderosa State Park. The Committee met on three occasions to discuss the issue and received a great deal of public interest on the subject. The Transportation Advisory Committee
has made a final recommendation that the City Council advise the Idaho Department of State Parks and Recreation to keep the main entrance to Ponderosa State Park at the current location
on Davis Avenue and for safety officials to work directly with Park officials to develop adequate secondary emergency access to the park.
Attached is the complete record of the Committee’s
action, including all correspondence received and draft minutes of the Committee’s September 1 meeting.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Advise the Idaho Department of State Parks and Recreation
to keep the main entrance to Ponderosa State Park at the current location on Davis Avenue and direct safety officials to work directly with Park officials in developing an adequate secondary
access to the park.
