1. Call to order
Meeting was called to order at 10:01 a.m.
2. Approval of Minutes
A motion was made by Mr. Connell to approve the minutes of the May 13 meeting. Mr. Borgmeyer
seconded. The motion passed unopposed.
3. Old Business – Review of IBC Amendments
Committee members discussed the current amendments to IBC Section 423 (Storm Shelters). Discussion
included the compromise that was reached by the previous Ad Hoc Committee to keep this section in lieu
of deleting it entirely, but making the City’s requirements less stringent than the published code and
FEMA requirements. A motion was made by Ms. Stitt to keep the amendment as previously adopted.
Mr. Connell seconded. The motion passed unopposed.
4. New Business – Review of IBC Amendments & Significant Changes
The committee discussed the Significant Changes to Chapter 9 of the IBC, as published by ICC. Significant
discussion was had about the changes to sprinkler requirements in Assembly occupancies (903.2.1).
A motion was made by Ms. Stitt to accept the significant changes to Chapter 9 as published. Mr. Connell
seconded. The motion passed without opposition.

There was no public present.
6. Next meeting date
Next Meeting is scheduled for June 10, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. Material to be reviewed at this meeting
includes the Significant Changes to Chapters 10-11 of the 2018 IBC.

Meeting was adjourned at 11:13 a.m.
