1. Call to order
Meeting was called to order at 10:01 a.m.
2. Old Business
a. IFC 1103.5.1 – Fire Sprinklers in Existing Group A-2 Occupancies
The committee dicussed held a short discussion on the administrative practicality and legality of
this change. The committee agreed with Chief Turner’s comments, namely that the use of
sprinklers to enhance safety in these occupancies should be encouraged wherever possible. Mr.
Doerhoff made a motion to delete this section from the code. Mr. Connell seconded. The
motion passed unopposed.
3. New Business – Review of IFC Amendments & Significant Changes
The committee continued discussing the remainder of the significant changes in the 2018 IFC beyond
1103.5.1. No other deletions or modifications were made to chapters 11 through 79.

There was no public present.
5. Next meeting date
Next Meeting is scheduled for September 2, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. Material to be reviewed at this meeting
will be the review of the Significant Changes to the 2018 IEBC and the 2018 IPMC.

Meeting was adjourned at 12:06 p.m.
