Meeting was called to order at 3:03 p.m.

3. New Business – Review of IRC Amendments & Significant Changes
Committee members discussed the City’s currently adopted amendments affecting Chapters 1 & 2 of the
2015 IRC. Discussion also included the significant changes to the 2018 IRC for Chapters 1 & 2.
The committee recommended an alteration in addition to the significant change of Exception 2 under
Section 101.2. In lieu of Owner-occupied lodging houses with 5 or fewer guestrooms requiring sprinklers,
those with 4 to 5 guestrooms require sprinklers. Owner-occupied lodging houses with 6 or more
guestrooms would be governed by the IBC; those with 3 or fewer guestrooms would not require sprinklers.
