Call to order Meeting was called to order at 3:03p.m. 2. Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes A motion was made by Charles Skornia and seconded by Chris Yarnell to approve the minutes of the June 2nd , 2021 meeting. 3. Old Business Chris read the code R404.4 Retaining Walls. There was a group discussion. Remove ,modular block/make cast in place. 4. New Business IRC Changes and Amendment Review – Chris read each Amendment as outlined in the agenda. a. R301.2(1) - Climatic and Geographic Design Criteria – discussion about changes. Chris asked the committee were there any additional changes that need to be made. b. R301.2.2. - Seismic Design Category – Brian discussed no changes c. R301.2.2.6 - Irregular Buildings – Chris stated, “This code doesn’t affect us.” d. R302.1 - Exterior Walls – Fire resistant ratings and changes were discussed. Committee discussion to leave as is. e. R302.2- Townhouse Separation – Brian explained to the committee about the townhouse separation. Leave this code as is. f. R302.3- Two-Family Dwelling Separation – Brian discussed changes allowing more options of building different ways. Leave code as is. g. R302.4.2 - Membrane Separation – Holly explained the use of can lights that IRC has in code. Chris asked’ “How would this effect puck lights?” Brian explained how, to the committee. h. R302.5 - Dwelling-Garage Opening Protection – Discussion on the floor, “Should garages be equipped with self-closing or automatic closing!” i. R302.10 - Insulation Flame Spread - j. R302.11 – Fire blocking – Chris discussed what was deleted from this section (Item 4). The committee agreed to delete fire blocking. k. R302.13 - Fire Protection of Floors above Crawl Spaces – Brian discussed previous changes. l. R303.6 - Outside opening protection - Brian explained the changes to this amendment. m. R307.1 - Toilet, Bath and Shower Spaces - Addition was added by committee n. R308.4.2 - Glazing Adjacent to Doors – Brian further explained glazing adjacent to doors and showed a photo of what it may look like. Discussion was made to adjourn meeting and discuss the following at the next meeting. o. R308.4.4 - Glazing in Guards and Railings p. R308.4.7 - Glazing Adjacent to the Bottom Stair Landing q.
