The attached sheet indicates the costs of crew and equipment hours for the Public Works Department
to assist with Winter Carnival 2004. This report was created using data collected from work orders on file in our office. Administrative hours are not included in these costs.
The
Department makes every effort to accommodate and assist the carnival participants while minimizing cost to the city. This year, the Department’s assistance was somewhat limited due
to snowplowing duties.
The carnival costs below are over a five-year period:
2004 $ 6,901.38
2003 $ 7,842.81
2002 $ 8,865.07
2001 $ 10,175.53
2000 $ 6,478.47
A high percentage
of time was spent delivering snow to approximately 20 locations (32%) and assisting with Idaho State Championship sculptures (24%) at John Carey Park on E. Lake St.
Note: $18.16 per
hour average labor rate for 6 employees and includes approx. 30% benefits paid by the City. Rates for heavy equipment are $55 and $35 for other vehicles.
