SUMMARY STATEMENT: The Arts and Humanities Council requested the City provide insurance coverage for public art.
The public art would be located throughout the City. Specific locations would be developed in conjunction with the Arts and Humanities Council and the Parks and Recreation Director,
with the expectation that the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee be involved in specific locations should any of the pieces be in City Parks. The City Manager has completed coordination
with ICRMP and confirmed the ability for the City to insure the art. A written agreement between the parties must include provisions that allow for paying for any damage or loss, but
that said payment does not include replacing the art, but rather paying a monetary value instead. The cost is very minimal, less than $2.00 per $1,000 of insured value.
RECOMMENDED
ACTION: Approve the request to insure public art as presented and direct the staff to work with ICRMP and the Arts and Humanities Council to insure public art while it is in the care
of the City of McCall.
