SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The airport is in serious need of asphalt maintenance, specifically, crack sealing which hasn’t been performed since 1998. An advertisement for
bid was published and Ron Barbee Asphalt Maintenance provided the only bid in the amount of $14,530.00 (roughly $4000 less than in 1998). After consulting with Bill Keating, it was
determined that Ron Barbee Asphalt Maintenance should be declared the apparent lowest responsible bidder.
In conversation with Bill Statham, Idaho Division of Aeronautics, the state
will assist us with at least $2000 possibly as much as $4000. Since we did not have an airport manager during most of the winter, FAA AIP grant money was not applied for and it is now
too late in the year to apply. On the advice of the FAA we can do the work now, fill out an FAA form 271, Request for Reimbursement, to receive matching funds in early FY 2006.
RECOMMENDED
ACTION:
Adopt Resolution 05-12 approving the contract with Ron Barbee Asphalt Maintenance.
