SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Valley County All Hazards
Mitigation Plan, which includes the Wildland-Urban Interface Wildfire Mitigation Plan, has been finalized by Northwest Management Inc. In order for FEMA to approve the plan for funding
to Valley County, a Resolution must be adopted by each City in Valley County. The plan was developed as a result of the new local hazard mitigation plan requirements required under
the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000. The planning team responsible for implementing the project was led by the Valley County Commissioners and included participation by the USDI Bureau
of Land Management, USDA Forest Service, Idaho Department of Lands, Southern Idaho Timber Protective Association, Tamarack Resort, Local Fire Departments, Valley County Planning and
Zoning Commission, Valley County Emergency Management, and Northwest Management Inc.
The Plan is extensive in length and not included as part of this agenda bill. The Plan is available
for review in the Office of The City Clerk.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution 05-14 approving the Valley County All Hazards Mitigation Plan.
