Animal Shelter Advisory Committee Meeting
Tuesday, December 21, 2021
Members Present:
Dr. Greg Boyer, Chair Dr. Stacey Beddoe
Matthew Barry, Senior Animal Control Officer Dr. Jessica Greene
Dr. Travis Schaller, Shelter Veterinarian Lt. Chad Stieferman
The Animal Shelter Committee met for a regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday December 21, 2021 at 12:20 p.m. in
the Conference Room, Jefferson City Animal Shelter, 2308 Hyde Park Road, Jefferson City Missouri. The meeting was
called to order by Dr. Boyer, Chair.
Approval of Minutes
Dr Stacey Beddoe moved to approve the minutes from the previous meeting. Dr. Boyer seconded the motion.
Staff Reports
Dr. Schaller advised that the number of animal intakes at the shelter was starting to go down allowing the overall animal
population in the shelter to go down as animals get adopted.
Dr. Boyer asked if the sales tax that passed would have any impact on the salaries at the Animal Shelter. Lt. Stieferman
advised the it would not have any impact on the present salaries. Dr. Boyer wanted to know the current hours of
operation at the Animal Shelter that are open to the public. The current hours that the Animal Shelter is open to the
public are 12-5:30 Monday through Friday.
Lt. Stieferman stated that during a period of low staffing that the Animal Shelter required and appointment to view the
adoptable animals at the shelter.

There was no Written Correspondence to discuss.
Old Business
Matthew Barry advised that the installation of stainless -steel cat kennels in the entry areas had been completed.
Matthew Barry stated that starting January 15L that the Shelter would start charging $5 for each communal cremation
picked up.
