Meeting Minutes from 4-8-13 Approved
Fruit Street Fields
Need to cost out how to handle grass area in front of turf that is being worn into a path.
Options are:
o Fence grass in
o Put a gate to access turf on left side of field
o Create a walkway with crushed stone and bushes on sides
Look into whether handicapped spaces need to be restriped so an ambulance can access
the turf.
Youth Sports Partnership
Youth sports have agreed to come together to create a partnership in which they will
work together (with Parks and Recreation ) on field maintenance, finding preferred
vendors, parking lots, storage facilities, new fields, technology, etc.
Have one fund that each organization contributes to and decides together how to allocate
the funds. The fund should reside with youth sports and not Parks and Recreation.
Each organization should send two delegates and come up with priorities of what the
funds would be used for. Jen Floyd and one Commissioner would be P&R’s
representatives.
The first meeting (to be set up by P&R) would need to
o Make a capital plan with a list of what the Partnership wants to do.
o Create an operating model
