SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The
McCall Improvement Committee has determined that south corridor improvements (infrastructure, streetscape, storm water) are the #1 priority on the 2005 Gem Community Action Plan. The
MIC met recently with Karl Augustine, SAGE Community Resources, to discuss the steps involved in submitting an Idaho Community Development Block Grant application to the Idaho Dept.
of Commerce and Labor. The MIC is willing to serve as a volunteer Block Grant Committee for the project and will recruit other community volunteers to serve on identified subcommittees
(design, business retention, resource development, and economic development), which will be obtaining the required information and community input for the grant application. Mr. Augustine
has advised the MIC that extensive participation from community volunteers will be required for the submission of a competitive grant application. SAGE Community Resources is willing
to provide grant application services for the project.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Authorize SAGE Community Resources to begin work on an ICDBG grant application for south corridor improvements,
and authorize the Mayor to sign any related documents. Appoint the McCall Improvement Committee to serve as the ICDBG Committee for the duration of the project.
