SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Torf Environmental Solutions solicited bids on behalf of the City for remediating
the lead contamination contained in the old firing range and general areas of City Hall and the Police Department. Intermountain Construction & Abatement, and Summit Environmental Inc.
submitted proposals for performing lead remediation for the old firing range. Summit Environmental Inc. provided the apparent lowest responsible bid for performing lead remediation
services in the old firing range. Disaster Kleenup, CTR and Western Building Maintenance submitted proposals for cleaning the other areas throughout the building. Western Building
Maintenance was identified as the apparent lowest responsible bidder as they are capable of remediating the lead contamination and performing HVAC cleaning.
Attached are the
lead abatement proposed contracts for cleaning the general area of City Hall and the Police Department and for cleaning the Range. These proposals have been reviewed by the City Attorney
and are ready for Council approval.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
1. Award the contract to Summit Environmental Inc. for lead remediation services in the old firing range, and
2. Award
the contract to Western Building Maintenance for lead remediation services, HVAC cleaning, and ductwork encapsulation throughout the rest of the building.
