SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The City of McCall solicited contractors for the repair of the entryway of the McCall Senior Center
in September, 2005. Salas Concrete was awarded the project, and their bid ($10,000) was based
on the scope of work in preliminary designs per Arrow Rock Architects. After the contract was
awarded in September, the final designs were completed. The final designs called for an
additional 10 feet of concrete for the ramp, which warranted additional asphalt removal, a curb on
the ramp, and an additional interior door. The heat mats in the ramp also exceeded the projected
price, which caused a cost overrun. The contractor is requesting a change in the contract to
include the additional concrete for the ramp and curb, asphalt removal, door, and heat mats for a
total of $2029.38.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve payment of the original contract amount and the change order and authorize a
total payment to Salas Concrete of $12,029.38.
