SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Airport Advisory Committee (AAC) recently reviewed the existing hangar waiting list to
assess its validity as an indicator to what the real hangar demand is at the McCall Airport. This
information is imperative for the data collection process of the new airport master plan. The
existing waiting list had no monetary commitment and the applicant was not required to own an
airplane or to be a pilot. As a result, many of the names represent people who were only seeking
investment opportunity. The AAC formed a separate Hangar Waiting List Policy Committee and
the attached proposed policy and application is being recommended by the AAC for City Council
approval. The proposed deposit would be applied towards the hangar owner's lease payment to
the city. If the applicant's name was removed from the list, for any reason, all but a $100
administrative fee would be returned to the applicant.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve the AAC recommended Hangar Waiting List Policy and direct staff to prepare a
resolution and public hearing to implement the recommended $500 fee.
