SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The City last adopted rates and charges for water and sewer services with the following
resolutions:
Resolution 13-99 December 1999 Monthly base sewer rates
Resolution 01-04 April 2001 Sewer connection charges
Resolution 03-15 September 2003 Water connection charges
Resolution 03-16 September 2003 Monthly water rates
The sewer rates and charges are no longer adequate to reimburse the costs incurred by the City
for wastewater collection, treatment and disposal. An analysis by the City Engineer is attached.
The City Manager, Deputy City Manager, and Acting Finance Director have determined that
water rates may be reduced to partially offset the sewer rate increase without significantly
impacting the City's ability to treat and distribute potable water. An analysis is attached.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution 06-16, establishing sewer utility rates.
Adopt Resolution 06-17, establishing water utility rates.
