Minutes – March 03, 2022
The meeting was called to order at 12:04 p.m.

Approval of January 20, 2022 minutes
Stacey Backues moved to approve the minutes from the January 20, 2022 Board meeting. The motion
was seconded by Stephanie Scruggs and passed on a voice vote.
Old Business
No old business was brought forward.
New Business
Chief Schroeder Introduced Lannah Rullo to the Board. Ms. Rullo will be taking Kay Stuefer’s
position as Administrative Assistant to the Chief upon Ms. Stuefer’s retirement.
Lt. Stiefermann presented an update to the Board on personnel vacancies. He stated the department is
currently short 4 communications operators, 11 sworn officers, 1 animal control officer, and 1 reco rds
section employee. After the last testing process there is currently one candidate for communications
operator and 3 candidates for sworn officer positions in various stages of the selection process. There
are also 3 candidates for sworn officer with current POST certification being reviewed and 3 applicants
for record clerk being interviewed.
Lt. Stiefermann also advised that there are 5 applicants for communications operator and 8 applicants
for sworn officer positions being processed for the next testing cycle, as well as 1 sworn officer
applicant that is POST certified.
Chief Schroeder advised there is one officer who left the department appx. 2 years ago who wishes to
return. Chief Schroeder said the officer had originally left under good circumstances due to relocating
from the area and is now moving back. It is anticipated this officer will reinstate his POST license and
be processed as other POST certified applicants.
Chief Schroeder then gave an update on Board member Dan Klindt, who is anticipating moving outside
the Jefferson City limits, and stated that Board members Bill Burton and Stephanie Scruggs have been
re-appointed to another term.
Begin Closed Session
Stacey Backues moved to go into a closed session at 12:27 p.m. pursuant to RSMo. 610.021. The
motion was seconded by Paul Dupuis. The motion passed with a roll call vote as follows:

End Closed Session
Paul Dupuis moved to come out of closed session at appx. 12:42 p.m. The motion was seconded by
Stacey Backues. The motion passed by the following roll call vote:

Scruggs-yes Dupuis-yes
The next regularly scheduled meeting is April 7th at 12:00 p.m.
Stacey Backues moved to adjorn the meeting. The motion was seconded by Paul Dupuis and passed on
a voice vote.
