Wayne Neddermeyer - Mayor in Chair Priscilla Arens - Clerk Wayne Neddermeyer, Raymond Bosch, Arthur Theis'and u Donald Des Lauriers present. The minutes of the regular meeting of October 6, 1970 read. Moved by Donald Des Lauriers that the minutes be approved as read. Seconded by Raymond Bosch Motion carried. The minutes of the special meeting of October 13, 1970 read, Moved by Arthur Theis that the minutes be approved as read. Seconded by Donald Des Lauriers Motion carried. The Planning Commission meeting of October 21, 1970 read. Report of the Canveissing Board of the November 3rd election: For Councilman - Harvey O. Dahl 51; C. O. Dorweiler 333; Robert Franklin 348 and blanks 23. Constitutional Amendments: 1st amendment, Yes 495; no 224 and blanks 38: 2nd Amendment, Yes 378; no 354 and blanks 25: Total number of registered voters 1094; Number of persons who voted.,757; total number of ballots actually counted 734, totally defective ballots 23; number of persons who returned spoiled ballots and received other ballots O. Moved by Donald Des Lauriers the accept the tally report as presented by election judges and declare Robert Franklin the winner. Seconded by Raymond Bosch. Motion carried. Harold Winterhalter brought up the matter of election judges campaigning for candidates. Moved by Raymond Bosch to grant permission to the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company to place buried cable on Hamel Road and PintonDrive. Seconded by Arthur Theis Motion carried. A letter from Altman, Geraghty, Leonard and Mulally regarding the Joseph S. Holasek property was read. A letter from the Fire Underwriters Inspection Bureau to the effect that they are changing the fire insurance classification frobliclass 10 to Classes 8 and 9 was read. A letter from George Gubbins stated that he was informed by the Hennepin County Highway Department that as soon as they have information from the State Department with regard to the speed on #116, they will advise him. A letter from Tonka Kennels setting forth the terms under which to pick up and take care of dogs. Discussion on the Sewer Treatment Work Acquisititn.. Individual items discussed and Mr. Gubbins instructed to contact them with to get their definite answers. Announcement of Hennepin County League Meeting of November 5, 1970 at 8 P. M. at the Golden Valley Village Hall. Moved by Raymond Bosch to acceptethe ordinance amending Appendix III, ordinance granting water works franchise, Article III, Sections 3.01, 3.03 and 3.04 of the Village of Medina. Seconded by Arthur Theis. lotion carried. Moved by Donald Des Lauriers to instruct the Village Attorney to institute a law suit for the lost pump in Municipal Court. Seconded by Raymond Bosch. Motion carried. Julius Dorweiler presented a copy of a snowwobile ordinance for study and further action. Roger Wutschke presented a letter for study on police salaries. Arthur Theis reported on purchase of a flag and new chairs. Moved by Arthur Theis ° Q pay the bills as follows: Payroll in the mount of $5,963.02 and order checks in the.amount of $12,722.47. Seconded by Raymond Bosch. Motion carried. Moved by Raymond Bosch to have a police meeting on Tuesday, November 10, 1970 at 7:00 P. M. Seconded by Arthur Theis Motion carried. Moved by Donald Des Lauriers to resolve to erect a stop sign on Parkview Drive and Hamel Road. • Seconded by Raymond Bosch. Motion carried. Moved by Raymond Bosch that the meeting adjourn.
