MINUTES
Elementary School Building Committee Chair Joe Markey opened the meeting 7:02 AM with the
following present:
Voting Members:
Mr. Joe Markey, Chair
Mr. Mike Shepard, Vice Chair
Mr. Rob Nickerson, Clerk/Secretary
Mr. John Weaver, Member
Mr. Scott Aghababian, Member
Members:
Dr. Steven Hiersche, Superintendent of Schools
Mr. David Daltorio, Member
Mr. Ralph Dumas, Director of Finance
Mr. Norman Khumalo, Town Manager
I Vote on Meeting Minutes
Mr. Shepard made a motion to approve the meeting minutes as circulated in the meeting packet
which included minutes for the March 28, 2013, April 4, 2013, and April 11, 2013 meetings. The
motion was seconded by Mr. Aghababian, and passed unanimously.
II. Center School Building Walk Through and Site Tour
In the context of the ESBC mission to facilitate the development of a solution to the constraints
at Center School, Superintendent Steven Hiersche and Director of Buildings and Grounds Al
Rogers led the committee on a tour of the Center School building and site.
Mr. Markey noted that this tour focused on providing committee members an opportunity to
become familiar first hand with the constraints highlighted in the recently submitted SOI, and
that additional site walks at this and other locations would also be part of initial steps in
feasibility study execution, (presuming positive outcome on the article at Town Meeting).
III. Next Meeting:
April 29, 2013 – 7:00 PM – Hopkinton Fire Department - Training Room, 73 Main Street
Mr. Aghababian moved to adjourn, seconded by Mr. Nickerson. The motion passed favorably and the
meeting adjourned at 8:10 AM.
