ADJOURNMENT Regular Meeting -June 18, 2009 Motion Second Vote Time: -2- CITY OF LYNWOOD REGULAR MEETING OF THE PERSONNEL BOARD APRIL 16, 2009 The regular meeting of the of the Personnel Board of the City of Lynwood was held on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, Lynwood, California. The agenda was duly posted as prescribed by the Brown Act. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 5:04 p.m. by Chairperson Bradley. Roll call was taken by Alfredo J Lopez, Human Resources Director. Commissioner Attendance: Present-Bradley, Lopez, Robinson Absent -None Staff Attendance: Present - Alfredo J Lopez Absent -Diane Strickfaden, Yolanda Delgadillo PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Led by Commissioner Robinson. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The motion was made by Commissioner Robinson and seconded by Commissioner Lopez to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 19, 2009. All in favor. Motion carried. PUBLIC ORALS -None STUDIES AND REPORTS Mr. Lopez provided an overview of the Maintenance Worker recruitment process which Ms. Strickfaden, Sr. HR Analyst is handling herself. There were over 300 applications received. He then informed the Board that there is a critical staffing need within the City Clerk's office. The prior Office Assistant II resigned which left a vacancy. The position falls within the critical staffing needs and is a budgeted position. -3- He also informed the Board that during the April 7th Council meeting, the Council voted 4 to 1 to vacate the seat for Mrs. Battle. That is one of the two seats that will be filled. Commissioner Lopez then informed the Board that she is in the process of purchasing a home out of the City of Lynwood which is in the process of escrow. With that in mind, Commissioner Lopez pretty soon will not be residing in Lynwood. A brief discussion took place and requested that Commissioner Lopez informed HR of any changes. COMMISSIONER & STAFF ORALS Mr. Lopez informed the Board that prior to posting of the Personnel Board agenda he received approval from the City Manager to proceed with the recruitment process for the position of Development Services Manager. The position is a revenue generated position and reports directly to the director. ITEMS TO BE AGENDIZED Mr. Lopez stated that HR will be presenting the Board three eligibility lists for approval at the upcoming meeting: Office Assistant II, Maintenance Worker and Development Services Manager. ADJOURNMENT Commissioner Robinson made the motion to adjourn and Commissioner Lopez seconded. All in favor. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 5:29 pm. -4-
