SUMMARY STATEMENT: The Police Department requests authorization to trade in six
used Mini 14, one used Sig Saur P239 handgun, one Remington 870 12 gauge shotgun,
one Ithaca Model 19 12 gauge shotgun and one Savage Sporter 30-06 Rifle and purchase
ten Bushmaster BCEA2F16M4 Rifles, ten thirty round magazines, six Mossberg 12 gauge
shotguns, two Sig Saur P229 duty handguns and three magazines from Ponderosa Sports
of Horseshoe Bend, Idaho.
This purchase will occur in late January, 2007, and will upgrade the department issued
weapons and augment officer safety.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve the request of the police department to trade in the
used firearms and purchase the new Bushmaster rifles, the Mossberg Shotguns and Sig
Saur handguns and magazines.
