Town Council and Staff Kick Off Annual Keep Leesburg
Beautiful Litter Collection Challenge
Leesburg, VA (April 3, 2017) –
On Saturday, April 1, 2017,
Leesburg Town Council and
staff members gathered at Fox
Ridge Park, along with
participants in the Town’s
R.O.C.K. (Recreation Outreach
to Community Kinds) program,
to kick off this year’s Keep
Leesburg Beautiful litter
collection challenge.
Whichever group collects the
most trash and litter from the
Town’s roadways and public
areas will claim the “Golden Trash Can” award and bragging rights for the year.
Residents, neighborhoods, community groups and businesses can participate in Keep Leesburg
Beautiful by collecting litter, conducting storm drain inventories or beautifying common areas.
Visit the Town of Leesburg website at www.leesburgva.gov/KLB for details about how to
participate and suggestions for litter collection locations. The Town of Leesburg will provide
safety vests, gloves and trash bags and will collect the filled bags and larger items like tires and
appliances.
Keep Leesburg Beautiful runs through the month of April. All registered groups will be
recognized for their contributions at the May 9 Town Council meeting. For more information,
