On February 9, Council reviewed information from staff and requested that volunteer Debbie
Fereday draft a Mission Statement for the proposed Environmental Committee.
See attached draft Mission Statement.

Several members of the public have indicated to staff a desire to address the Council on this
matter. Staff recommends that public comment be allowed during this agenda item, to allow more
comment and discussion than the Public Comment portion of the agenda allows.
Staff recommends that an advisory committee with a well -crafted and Council -defined mission
statement, representative membership, Council oversight, and appropriate staff support is the
appropriate solution.
