SUMMARY STATEMENT:
As part of the block grant application to remodel the Senior Center, the existing carport was
determined to be inadequate to sufficiently house the current Senior Citizen bus. Funds are
available through the Section 5310 Elderly and Disabled grant program to build or repair
structures to house senior buses. The grant, if awarded, will cover 92% of the cost of the new
carport. The remodel would allow accommodation of a larger bus in the future, as well as
providing sufficient clearance for loading of passengers and access by the driver.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve submission of the FTA 5310 application, adopt Resolution 06-10, and authorize
the Mayor to sign all necessary documents.
