The Commission heard public testimony and reviewed a staff report. The applications are for the permission to construct nine duplexes on nine lots. The Commission found that the application did not meet the one of the requirements of MCC 3-31-030. Specifically, the Commission found that the application did not comply with the condition that states, "The proposed use will be designed, constructed, operated and maintained to be harmonious and appropriate in appearance with the existing or likely character of the neighborhood, and that such use will not change the essential character of the surrounding area." The Commission recommended the application be denied by the City Council. The complete application is extensive and is not attached to this agenda bill. The complete application is available for review in the Community Development Department. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt the Findings & Conclusions and approve CUP 06-1 through CUP 06-9. RECORD OF COUNCIL ACTION Meeting Date ACTION April 13, 2006 Adopted the Findings & Conclusions and approved CUP 06-1 through 06- 9, with an amendment to the statement: "The duplex shall provide either an oversized garage or a standard garage with attached storage shed for each unit for the storage of household goods, personal items and other items such as but not limited to bicycles, shovels, garbage cans, etc."
