SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The design/build RFP on the east hangar project closed on April 5t"° with the presentations by
four developers on April 7t". Since this agenda bill was composed before the selection process,
the Airport Advisory Committee (AAC) is asking for the Council to review the RFP (attached) and
confirm the recommendation the selection committee made after the April 7t" proposal
presentations. A formal recommendation will be presented to the Council on April 13t"
The AAC formed a subcommittee, comprised of four key people, for the selection of the best
proposed design concept submitted by one of four developers who responded to the airport's
RFP. After this initial selection, the AAC will continue to play an active roll in the development of
this project by evaluating the numerous alternatives which will arise from the developer with the
selected proposal.
The selection committee consisted of Roger Millar, Director, Community Development; John
Seevers, Chairman; AAC, Rik Poston, experienced developer and airport advocate; Rick Harvey,
Airport Manager; with airport consultants of Toothman-Orton assessing the final selection.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve the development firm selected by the AAC designated selection committee for the east
hangar project.
