SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Tree Committee recommends amending the Tree Ordinance to allow a fee and establishing
a fee of $25 for tree permits per application.
This application would regulate the removal of public trees by contractors and home owners.
Tree permits will be attached to building permits to allow contractors or home owners the removal
of city public right-of-ways trees per the approval of tree committee and the City Arborist. The
fees from the tree permit will be used to defray administrative costs of processing the tree permit.
The fee is established by the Tree Committee's recommendation as well as fees collected by
other communities.
The public notice concerning the tree permit fee was published in The Star -News on July 20 and
July 27, 2006.
This is a Public Hearing.
Staff is recommending that Council adopt 1 Ordinance No. 824 and 2 Resolution 06-12 in order
to establish a fee of $25 for a tree permit.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Suspend the rules, read by title only, one time only, Ordinance No. 824.
Adopt Ordinance No 824 and authorize the Mayor to sign.
Adopt Resolution 02-10 and authorize the Mayor to sign.
