Re: AB06- : FY06 1st Budget Amendment
The first budget amendment for FY 2006 appropriates additional monies in the
amount of $1,593,581 from fund balances. The appropriation details are listed below.
Fund Balance Available
Fund Balance is available and recommended for appropriation in the following
amounts:
General Fund $652,156
Streets/Public Works Fund $382,269

Recommended Expenditures
General Fund
$93,000 Senior Center Remodel
Construction costs have increased significantly. The appropriation of
these additional funds will allow completion of the project as originally
intended when the FY06 budget was developed.
$160,000 Wastewater Facility Plan
Transfer this amount to the Sewer Fund
$399,156 I&I Removal — Lake Street
Transfer this amount to the Sewer Fund
$652,156 General Fund subtotal

$160,000 Wastewater Facility Plan
These additional funds will allow the Wastewater Facility Plan to
remain on schedule in FY06.

I&I Removal — Lake Street
Construction costs have increased dramatically. These funds will allow
the I&I removal project to proceed in FY06.

Streets/Public Works Fund
$126,753 Paving completed in Fall `05
These funds were originally budgeted in FY05, but the work was not
completed until after October 1, in FY06. The FY05 unexpended funds
`rolled -over into fund balance.
$34,516 Street Paving
A paving project will be identified for Council consideration on June 22.
$15,000 Sand
This will accommodate the Department's need to purchase `reject
sand' for all of the street sanding. The Department has previously used
a less -suitable sand for this purpose.
$10,000 Increased fuel costs
This amendment will accommodate increased fuel expenses incurred
in FY06 due to the heavy snow year and increase fuel costs.
$100,000 `Mission Street Dip' Repair
This is the estimated City share of the improvement costs. The road is
being repaired under the terms of the Development Agreement with
River Ranch. The developer is sharing in the cost of the
improvements.
$96,000 Backhoe
This will replace a 1986 backhoe which has exceeded its useful life.
