RESOLUTION NO. 92 -3197
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE
CITY EXPRESSING THE CITY'S DETERMINATION TO FORMALLY
AFFILIATE WITH THE WEST SAN GABRIEL VALLEY
CONSORTIUM FOR THE CONTINUING PROVISION OF
EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING SERVICES TO TEMPLE CITY
RESIDENTS
WHEREAS, the City of Temple City has received employment and training services for its
residents from the West San Gabriel Valley Consortium for over ten years; and
WHEREAS, many Temple City residents have been served through the Consortium's Adult,
Youth, Older Worker, Displaced Worker and Summer Youth Employment Training Programs; and
WHEREAS, the Consortium is the largest- funded Prime Agent service provider in Los Angeles
County and is respected for its ability to deliver effective employment and training services to eligible
residents of nine San Gabriel Valley public agencies; and
WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles has required that all cities receiving employment and
training services from a Prime Agent of the Los Angeles County Service Delivery Area must become a
signatory to the Prime Agent's Joint Powers Agreement and receive representation on the Prime Agent's
Executive Board; and
WHEREAS, Temple City desires to continue to have the West San Gabriel Valley Consortium
serve its residents' employment training needs and to receive the allotted funding related thereto;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City will become a member agency of the West San Gabriel Valley Consortium
and directs that a staff member be assigned to represent the City on the Consortium's Executive Board.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution.

Council of the City of Temple City at a regular meeting held on the 17th day of November, 1992 by the
