Leesburg, VA (April 28, 2017) – The 10th annual Get Smart! 5K Stampede will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 in Leesburg, beginning at 8:00am. The event is a flat course race, certified by USAT&F, that begins and ends at Smart’s Mill Middle School (850 North King Street.) There will be a free quarter-mile Kids’ Run that begins after the start of the 5K and before the announcement of awards. Finishers’ ribbons will be awarded to all participants. All proceeds from the Get Smart! 5K benefit the Smart’s Mill Middle School PTA. Online registration with PR Races closes on May 4, 2017. The top three overall male and female runners will receive awards. The top two finishers in the following age groups also will be awarded prizes: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40- 49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over. Drivers should expect delays due to the race. Beginning at 8:00am, Catoctin Circle NE, from Battlefield Drive to Marshall Drive, will be closed. The road will reopen as soon as all runners have cleared the roadway, at approximately 9:00am. # # #
