Home My Public Portal AboutOrd. 05-58 No. -10'1'-'18 ®rDinm1C£ D£ 111£ ¿ßürü1t±1h ü£ ŒIar±£r£±1 1t 3J ~ AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING CHAPTER 254 ENTITLED VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC OF THE CODE OF THE BOROUGH OF CARTERET WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 39:5A-I the traffic enforcement provisions of Subtitle I, entitled Motor Vehicles and Traffic Laws, of Title 39 of the Revised Statutes are made applicable to the Borough of Carteret thereby authorizing the Borough to enforce traffic laws on private roadways and parking lots upon written request by the owner thereof; and WHEREAS, the following property owners have requested that the Borough provide such traffic enforcement upon the respective roadways and parking lots; and WHEREAS, the Borough has decided to grant these requests; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Borough Council of the Borough of Carteret (the "Borough") as follows: Section 1 Chapter 254. entitled VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC of the Code of the Borough of Carteret shall be amended and supplemented to add a section entitled "Enforcement of Title 39 on Private Property" to read as follows: . ENFORCEMENT OF TITLE 39 ON PRIVATE PROPERTY Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 39:5A-l the trattic control provisions of Subtitle 1, entitled Motor Vehicle and Traffic Laws, of Title 39 of the Revised Statutes of the State of New Jersey shall be enforced by the Carteret Police Department, and/or any other authorized police enforcement agency, at the following locations: 1. Carteret Mobile Park 2. Tower Trailer Park 3. Meridian Square Apartments 4. Meridian Terrace Apartments 5. Carteret Garden Apartments Section 2 All ordinances or parts thereof inconsistent with the provision of this ordinance are hereby repealed limited to the extent of any such inconsistency. Section 3 If any section, paragraph, sub-division, clause or provision of this ordinance is adjudged invalid, such adjudication shall apply only to the section, paragraph, sub-division, clause or provision so adjudged and the remainder of this ordinance shall be deemed valid and effective.
