BUSINESS
The results from a Community Housing Market and Needs Assessment covering Valley and Adams counties
will be presented. Rees Consulting, Inc, a Colorado -based firm that specializes in affordable housing in high -
cost mountain communities, conducted the study. It focuses on the availability and affordability of housing for
employees but also examines the housing needs of special populations including seniors. The study includes 16
specific recommendations on what should be done to address Community Housing needs.
Recommendations will be discussed with establishment of region -wide priorities for Community Housing. A
slide presentation will be also shown on the tools and techniques used in other mountain communities to ensure
that there is sufficient housing to support a sustainable economy.
