Mayne Neddermeyer - Mayor in Chair Priscilla Arens - Clerk All members present. The minutes of the regular meeting of October 3, 1967 read. Moved. by.Raymond Bosch that the minutes be approved as read. Seconded by Rayburn Anderson. Motion carried. The minutes of the Planning Commission meeting of October 16, 1967 read. Acting as a Cgn.vassing Board for results of the election of November 7, 1967, the Council submitted the following report as given by Election Judges Merion Ahlstrom, Laura Miller, Adella Gertz, Marie Morin and Florence Kohnen: Results, For Mayor: Wayne Neddermeyer 302 Harold L. Winterhalter 228 For Councilman: Raymond J. Bosch 277 Robert J. Roehl 253 961 registered voters, 535 voted with d, spoiled ballots, 5 deffective for both mayor and councilman, (one ballot a complete blgnk), 3 persons returned spoiled ballots and received other ballots. Moved by Rayburn Anderson to accept the report as submitted. to the Canvassing Board. Seconded by Harold Winterhalter. Motion carried. Moved by Rayburn Anderson that Wayne Neddermeyer-be.shown-in the-- inutes as elected Mayor and Raymond J. Bosch as elected Councilman. Seconded by Arthur Theis. Motion carried. Wayne Neddermeyer and'Raymond J. Bosch were sworn in. Mrs. Gilbert Pettit- appeared with regard_ to permit to remodel "Superette" into living quarters. Moved by Arthur Theis that we gram Tdr. & Mrs. Gilbert Pettit permission to use their "Superette" as a home for a maximum of three yee,rs, that the permit will not be transferable to new owners, and that the outside should not be materiallly altered outside of changing a. door r.nd winffow. Seconded by Harold Winterha:lter. Motion carried. Robert Franklin appeared with regard to two tax forfeited lots atoinin; his lot which he wishes to purchase. Cleric to contact Mr. Gubbins faith regard to procedure. 59 Letter from Wright-Heritiepin Co-operative Electric Association regarding meter charge on property purchased for village hall site. IIove by Raymond Bosch to write them a letter telling them to discontinue the electric service. Seconded by 8ayburn Anderson. Motion carried. The Resolution releting to participation in the Suburban Hennepin County Nursing District was rend. Moved by Raymond Bosch that we adopt the resolution to participate in the Hennepin County Nursing District. Seconded by Arthur Theis. Motion Carried. Voted s follows: Arthur Theis, yes, Rayburn Anderson, yes; Raymond Bosch, yes; Mayne Nedderneyer, yes; and Harold Winterhalter, yes. Two letters were read from the Highway Department of the State of Minnesota, with regard to ememgency snow removal. No action taken. Rayburn Anderson is going to check further with regard to _removal of ice in business districts. William Ilills gave a report and discussed ways and means of proceeding with the sewage problem in the Hamel area. Moved by Raymond Bosch to authorize the Clerk to write a letter to the Northwest Chamber of Commerce requeting them to present us with a petition of 35"' of the property owners requesting the survey for the sewer system to be put in the Hamel area, anc at such time that the petition is received, we will authorize the Village Engineer to go ahead and make a pr:liminary report. Seconded by Arthur Theis. Motion carried. .Anne Dorweiler appeared and gave a very good report of t`e work that has been done with reward to laming and numbering the streets. Moved by Rayburn Anderson that the Planning Commission be authorized to proceed on the street naming and numbering system, using the basic West Hennepin plan. Seconded by Harold Winterhalter. Motion carried. Anne Dorweiler brought up the matter of the dangerous railroad crossing on depot hill. Moved by Raymond Bosch to authorize the Clerk to write a letter to V e Soo Line Railroad with regard to the ding rows crossing and Rstigg for flashing de.nger lights. Seconded by Arthur Theis. Motion carried. Letters from the Etg)ple Plain and Loretto Fire Departments regarding burning rubbish were read. To be filed until we hear from Long Lake Department. Letter from i'_`innesot: Planning Association was read announcing meeting Nov. 17. Harold Wlnterh.alter reported on the Regional Minnesota League of Municipalities meeting he attended on October llth.
