RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
CONTRACT EKA ASSOCIATES
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Carteret has previously
awarded a contract to EKA Associates, P.A. for the preparation of digital tax maps
for the Borough; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said contract updated digital tax maps were forwarded to
the State of New Jersey, Department of Treasury, Division of Taxation, for its
review and approval as required by law; and
WHEREAS, as part of its review, the State indicated that the current Tax Block and
Lot numbering system utilized by the Borough is inconsistent with State regulations;
and
WHEREAS, EKA Associates, P.A. has submitted a proposal to renumber the Tax
Blocks and Lots in coordination with Tax Assessor.
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council are desirous to retain the services of EKA
Associates to renumber the Borough's Tax Block and Lots in accordance with State
regulations; and
WHEREAS, the Borough's Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are
available for said contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret as follows:
1. The proposal from EKA Associates, P.A. for renumbering the
Borough's Tax Block and Lot numbers, a copy of which is
attached hereto and made a part hereof, is hereby approved in an
amount not to exceed $5000.00.
2. This award is made as a part of a professional services contract.
Adopted this 16th day of August, 2001 and
certified as a true copy of the original on
August 17th, 2001.
