The City Council of the City of Tiffin Johnson County, Iowa, met in a Special Meeting
February 25, 2016 at 6:06 p.m. Mayor Berner called the meeting to order. Upon roll being
called the following named council members were present: Jim Bartels, Al Havens, Jo
Kahler, Mike Ryan., Peggy Upton. Also present: City Administrator/Clerk Doug Boldt,
A$Zenda Additions/Agenda Approval
Motion to approve meeting agenda by Bartels.
Second Kahler.
All ayes, special meeting agenda approved.
Motions for Approval
Discussion and Consideration of Minimum Wage Ordinance and Council Action as Needed
Al Havens advised that he is not in favor of Opting Out and feels the need to increase the
minimum wage to $9/hr.
Motion to instruct the City Administrator to proceed with the development of an Ordinance
which sets Tiffin's Minimum Wage at $9/hr. by Havens.
Second by Bartels.
Roll Call Vote: Havens, Upton, Bartels, Ryan. Nays: Kahler. Motion carried.
Adjournment
Motion Ryan to adjourn.
Second Havens.
All ayes, meeting adjourned at 6:30pm.
