A RESOLUTION SETTING THE DATE FOR THE PUBLIC HEARING AND LETTING
OF THE PARKS AND RECREATION IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT FOR THE
CITY OF TIFFIN, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Tiffin , Iowa will set the date for the Public Hearing and Letting of the
PARKS AND RECREATION IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT for the City of Tiffin, Iowa.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TIFFIN, IOWA, set the date for the Public Hearing of the aforementioned project for April 5,
2016, at 7:00 P.M.
The date for the Letting of the aforementioned project is set for March 31, 2016, at 2:00 P.M.
Sealed proposals for the construction of said improvements will be received by the City Clerk at
the City of Tiffin, 300 Railroad, Tiffin, Iowa, until 2:00 P.M. on April 5, 2016.
On the 8th day of March, 2016, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa,
Councilperson Kahler introduced RESOLUTION No. 2016-017, A RESOLUTION SETTING
THE DATE FOR THE PUBLIC HEARING AND LETTING OF THE PARKS AND
RECREATION IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT FOR THE CITY OF TIFFIN, IOWA, and
made a motion for approval. Motion seconded by Councilperson Ryan.
Ayes: Upton, Bartels, Havens, Ryan, Kahler
Nays: None
Absent: None
Whereupon five Council members were present and voted approval and Mayor Berner declared
that RESOLUTION No. 2016-017, A RESOLUTION SETTING THE DATE FOR THE
PUBLIC HEARING AND LETTING OF THE PARKS AND RECREATION
IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT FOR THE CITY OF TIFFIN, IOWA, to be adopted and
signified his approval of the same by affixing his signature thereto.
Passed by the City Council on the 8th day of March, 2016.

DESCRIPTION OF
The project shall consist of providing all materials, equipment and labor necessary to install the work as defined as

The scope of work shall entail construction of a new park at the corner of Deer View Avenue and Jackson
Street called "Deer View Park," construction of a new park at the corner of Oakdale Boulevard and Cherry
Lane called "Woodfield Park," installation of the first phase of a new Dog Park located in City Park,
installation of a new lighting system for fields 3 and 4 located at City Park, and installation of a new tennis -
court facility and concession stand near the soccer fields also located in City Park.

COST
SALES TAX
The Bidder is eligible to receive an exemption from the State of Iowa Sales Tax. The City expects the
EXEMPTION
Contractor to obtain the Sales Tax Exemption from the City. State of Iowa Sales Tax shall NOT be included
in the bid.
BID GUARANTY:
Bid Bond, Cashiers or Certified Check or Credit Union Certified Share Draft, in the amount of 10% of the bid.
COMPLETION
Work shall commence within ten (10) calendar days after receipt of the written "Notice to Proceed". All work

shall be substantially complete by October 15, 2016, subject to any time extension that may be granted by the

PERFORMANCE/
PAYMENT
One hundred percent (100%) of the bid, with a maintenance period of three (3) years from the time of final

Monthly estimates equivalent to ninety-five percent (95%) of the Contract value of the work completed during
the preceding calendar month with 5% retainage. Remaining retainage, if any, will be paid within 30 days
after final acceptance by the City.
