MINUTES
AUGUST 10, 1992
I. ROLL CALL AND CALL TO ORDER
The recessed meeting was called to order at 4:05 p.m.
by Mayor Smith. Councilmen VanKomen, Larson and LeBrett
answered the roll call. The Mayor declared a quorum
present.
II. BUDGET WORKSESSION:
The Council reviewed the Police, Animal Control,
Court, and Drug Enforcement Fund budgets with the Police
Chief. At 6:30 p.m., the Council met with the Recreation
Director and the Park and Recreation Advisory Committee and
reviewed the Park, Recreation, and Park Bond funds.
III. EXECUTIVE SESSION
Mayor Smith requested an Executive Session to deal with
a personnel matter pursuant to IC 67-2345, subsection b,
"...to consider the evaluation, dismissal or disciplining
of ... a public officer, employee, staff member or
individual agent..."
VanKomen moved to conduct an executive session pursuant
to IC 67-2345, subsection b. Larson seconded. On a roll
call vote, VanKomen, Larson, and LeBrett voted Aye. The.
session commenced at 6 p.m. and the Council returned to
open session at 6:15 p.m.
IV. OTHER BUSINESS
Councilman LeBrett asked that the Council members sign
a letter of support for improved day care services in the
community.
Mayor Smith advised that the County Prosecutor had
advised him that there is no ordinance on record in the
County Courthouse creating the Impact Planning and Zoning
Commission and that it is her view that this commission
does not legally exist. She is assisting him in preparing
an ordinance and a notice for hearing on the Ordinance.
V. RECESS
At 8 p.m. ,Larson moved to recess
