NOVEMBER 20, 1992
MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING
I. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL
The Mayor called the meeting to order at 8 a.m. in the
Council Chambers. Councilmen LeBrett and Councilman Wallace
answered the roll call. The Mayor determined that no quorum was
present. Subsequently, Councilman VanKomen arrived.
II. IDAHO TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT BOARD
The Board was in attendance, Mr. Combo presiding for the
Board, and discussed the Highway Improvement Program and
explained the revenue shortfall which required the deletion of
the Deinhard-Boydstun Connector from the federally funded portion
of the program. After presentation of the Deinhard-Boydstun
plans and a review of the project by the members of the City's
Transportation Advisory Committee, the Board responded to
questions on the project. Commissioner Olson noted that Valley
County has committed the $1 Million in federal funds which the
County had previously committed to the Warm Lake Rd. paving.
Leroy Meyer, District III Engineer suggested that the city
use these funds, FAA assistance, and other local resources to
construct this road. Since the project is still listed on the
Local Road list by the state, the Transportation Department can
assist the city in the preparation of specification, contracting
and other "in -kind" assistance on the project.
The State is advancing the 1982 selected Bypass alternative,
(B-2 route) for construction commencing in 1997.
III. ADJOURNMENT:
