MINUTES
MARCH 18, 1993
I. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL:
Mayor Smith called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. and
Councilmen VanKomen, Wallace, Larson and LeBrett answered the
roll call. The Mayor declared a quorum present.
II. GOLF CONCESSION INTERVIEWS:
The Council interviewed Carlene Gans and Mary Clemmer who had
responded to the RFP for professional services. After the
interviews and discussion, Wallace moved to enter contract
negotiations with Carlene Gans. There was no second and the
motion died. LeBrett then moved to enter contract negotiations
with Mary Clemmer. VanKomen seconded and on a roll call vote,
LeBrett, VanKomen, Larson and Wallace voted Aye. The Mayor
declared the motion carried.
III. WATER SYSTEM WORKSHOP:
Rick Orton, Chuck Sundby and other representatives of
Toothman-Orton Engineering reviewed their analysis of the water
system, particularly pump station operations, computer model
calibration, and future operation and maintenance needs in the
existing system.
The firm also presented an updated draft report on installing
water meters in the system. The report recommended the adoption
of certain administrative and legal procedures, the installation
of meters inside buildings rather than in meter pits, and
estimated costs for the system. After the discussion, the
consensus of all members of the Council was to proceed to plan
the system with meters installed in the fashion outlined in the
report. Mr. Orton asked that the Council review the report and
then schedule the report for adoption on the March 25 agenda.
Also requested was another work session which was scheduled for
May 6, 1993.
IV. ADJOURNMENT:
At 11:05 p.m., VanKomen moved to adjourn. Wallace seconded and
the motion carried.
