HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolutions-2016-026RESOLUTION NO. 2016-026 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING RECOMMENDATIONS FROM THE IOWA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR SPEED LIMIT CHANGES TO HIGHWAY 6 Whereas, the City Council of the City of Tiffin requested a speed study on Highway 6 from the Iowa Department of Transportation; and, Whereas, the Iowa Department of Transportation has conducted said survey and made its recommendations to extend the west 45 mph speed limit zone further west to the west end of town and the east 45 mph speed limit zone further east to the east end of town; and, Whereas, the City Council concurs with these recommendations, Now, therefore be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa, to accept the speed limit recommendations of the Iowa Department of Transportation. On the 19th day of April, 2016, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa, Councilperson Kahler introduced RESOLUTION NO. 2016-026, A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING RECOMMENDATIONS FROM THE IOWA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR SPEED LIMIT CHANGES TO HIGHWAY 6 and made a motion for approval. Motion seconded by Councilperson Havens. Ayes: Havens, Bartels, Upton, Kahler, Ryan Nays: None. Absent: None. Whereupon five Council members were present and voted approval and Mayor Berner declared that RESOLUTION NO. 2016-026, A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING RECOMMENDATIONS FROM THE IOWA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR SPEED LIMIT CHANGES TO HIGHWAY 6 to be adopted and signified his approval of the same by affixing his signature thereto.
