HomeMy Public PortalAboutCouncil Minutes 1993 09/03MCCALL CITY COUNCIL MINUTES SPECIAL MEETING, SEPTEMBER 3, 1993 I. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL Mayor Smith called the meeting to order at 4:15 p.m. and Councilmen VanKomen, Larson and LeBrett answered the roll call. Wallace was absent due to illness. The mayor declared a quorum present. II. BEER LICENSE TRANSFER, LAKE BOWL: Staff requested adding consideration of this item to the agenda to allow the bowling alley to reopen and serve beer. VanKomen moved to approve the transfer of the retail beer license to Kaye Powell. Larson seconded and the motion carried unanimously. III. CANVAS OF ELECTION RESULTS: The Clerk presented the Tally books and the Election Register and Poll book for inspection on the two special elections conducted on August 31, 1993. After review, Larson moved to accept the results and have them spread upon the minutes. VanKomen seconded and the motion carried. The results of the election are: On the following proposition: "Shall the City of McCall adopt the council-manager plan of government, as set forth in Section 50-801 through 50-812, Idaho Code?" YES 336 NO 101 On the following proposition: "Shall the City of McCall be authorized to issue and sell its revenue bonds in the principal amount of $9,991,000 to pay the costs of improvements to the city's domestic water system, said bonds to mature over a period which may be less than but which shall not exceed thirty (30) years and to be payable solely from the revenues of the domestic water system, all as more fully provided in ordinance No. 635, adopted on June 24, 1993? IN FAVOR OF ISSUING REVENUE BONDS: 276 AGAINST THE ISSUANCE OF REVENUE BONDS; 161 IV. ADJOURNMENT; At 4:20 p.m. Larson moved to adjourn, LeBrett seconded and the motion carried. Mayor Clerk
