CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL: Council President VanKomen called the meeting to order at 12 noon and announced the purpose of the special meeting which was to canvas the votes of the November 2 elections. Councilmen VanKomen, LeBrett and Wallace answered the roll call. A quorum was present. II. CANVAS OF VOTES; Election Judge, Julie Eddins, outlined the process and advised the Council on the canvas. The Council reviewed the poll books and tally books. After discussion, LeBrett moved that the election results be spread on the minutes for the General and Special Election of November 2, 1993 as presented by the Clerk and the Election Board. Wallace seconded and the motion carried unanimously. The election results are as follows: SPECIAL ELECTION ON THE MATTER OF IMPOSING A 1% GENERAL SALES TAX UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF TITLE 50, CHAPTER 10: VOTING IN FAVOR OF THE MEASURE: 242 Votes VOTING AGAINST THE MEASURE: 535 Votes Requiring a 60% majority to pass, the measured failed. GENERAL ELECTION TO ELECT 5 COUNCILMEN: were declared elected: The following persons DEAN MARTENS WILLIAM KILLEN FRANCIS WALLACE LANCE ECKHARDT RALPH COLTON 559 VOTES 4 YEAR TERM 539 " 4 YEAR TERM 447 " 4 YEAR TERM 400 " 2 YEAR TERM 298 " 2 YEAR TERM Other candidates and their vote tallys are as follows: Richard McChrystal 296 Travis T.
