HomeMy Public PortalAboutCouncil Minutes 1994 03/21MINUTES MCCALL CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING March 21, 1994 I. The meeting was called to order by the Mayor at 4:05 PM March 21, 1994. Martens, Arp, Colton and Killen answered the roll call. Eckhardt arrived later. II. ROTARY SNOWPLOW. Staff reported that the Airport committee had been looking for an affordable surplus rotary snowplow for some years and that one had become available. Public Works Director Keating reported that he had inspected the equipment and that it was in good working order. After discussion, it was the council's consensus that Keating determine the reason the Idaho Air Guard had replace the snowplow and to confirm that it would still be available after the regular council meeting March 24th. With that direction the matter was ordered to the March 24th agenda. III. CITY MANAGER SELECTION. Martens moved to go into session as a committee of the whole to take up this matter. Killen seconded and the motion carried. COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE COUNCIL The council members each read their "top -ten" list. It was then determined that Schmidt was on five lists; Bernhardt, Cook, Hauser, Schilling and Shimun were each on four lists; Bristol was on three lists; Brady, Drumm, Figuly, and O'Conner were on two lists; and Ausmus, Guider, Payne, Pope, Preheim, and Sizemore were each on one list. Following discussion it was the council's consensus to consider that the seven candidates who were on at least three lists would be the list of pre -finalists. Staff was then instructed to: 1. Contact each of the seven candidates by phone to: - inform them of the status of their application and to determine if they are still candidates. - obtain references and permission to contact references. - schedule a time for a telephone conference with one of the members of the council to "flesh out" the application. 2. Prepare a packet of information concerning the City and the Community and forward it to each applicant. IV. ADJOURNMENT. Without further business Colton moved to adjourn. Arp seconded and the motion_ carried. ATTEST: Mayor
