MCCALL CITY COUNCIL
SPECIAL MEETING
March 21, 1994
I. The meeting was called to order by the Mayor at 4:05 PM
March 21, 1994. Martens, Arp, Colton and Killen answered
the roll call. Eckhardt arrived later.
II. ROTARY SNOWPLOW. Staff reported that the Airport committee
had been looking for an affordable surplus rotary snowplow
for some years and that one had become available. Public
Works Director Keating reported that he had inspected the
equipment and that it was in good working order. After
discussion, it was the council's consensus that Keating
determine the reason the Idaho Air Guard had replace the
snowplow and to confirm that it would still be available
after the regular council meeting March 24th. With that
direction the matter was ordered to the March 24th agenda.
III. CITY MANAGER SELECTION. Martens moved to go into session as
a committee of the whole to take up this matter. Killen
seconded and the motion carried.
COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE COUNCIL
The council members each read their "top -ten" list. It was then
determined that Schmidt was on five lists; Bernhardt, Cook,
Hauser, Schilling and Shimun were each on four lists; Bristol was
on three lists; Brady, Drumm, Figuly, and O'Conner were on two
lists; and Ausmus, Guider, Payne, Pope, Preheim, and Sizemore
were each on one list. Following discussion it was the council's
consensus to consider that the seven candidates who were on at
least three lists would be the list of pre -finalists. Staff was
then instructed to:
1. Contact each of the seven candidates by phone to:
- inform them of the status of their
application and to determine if they are still
candidates.
- obtain references and permission to contact
references.
- schedule a time for a telephone conference with
one of the members of the council to "flesh out"
the application.
2. Prepare a packet of information concerning the
City and the Community and forward it to each
applicant.
IV. ADJOURNMENT. Without further business Colton moved to
adjourn. Arp seconded and the motion_ carried.
ATTEST:
