MINUTES
APRIL 25, 1994
I. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL:
The Mayor called the meeting to order at 4 p.m. and
announced the purpose of the special meeting to be a review of
the draft master plan for Ponderosa State Park. Council members
Martens, Arp and Colton answered the roll call. Killen arrived
at 4:15 p.m. and Eckhardt was absent. The Mayor declared a
quorum present.
II. MASTER PLAN, PONDEROSA PARK:
Members of the City and Impact Planning and Zoning
Commissions, the Transportation Advisory Committee and the Park
and Recreation Advisory Committee attended. The Park staff
reviewed the master plan, both the peninsula and North Beach
elements and noted the long range improvements for both sectors.
Access alternatives were reviewed which are maintaining the Davis
St. entry or relocating the entry to access the East Side bypass.
After discussion, Colton moved to direct the Mayor and Manager to
draft a letter requesting that both options be maintained for as
long as possible within the plan, allowing for other development
to occur. Killen seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
The Council recessed for 5 minutes.
III. OTHER BUSINESS:
The Council discussed whether to close city hall for
Wednesday, April 27 which has been declared by the President a
National Day of Mourning for former President Nixon.
They determined not the close the city offices.
The Mayor asked that the Saturday meeting, interviewing the
City Manager candidates be noticed..
IV. ADJOURNMENT:
Without further business, Martens moved to adjourn at 5:10
p.m. Colton seconded and the mo�tien carried.
