McCall City Council
Special Call Meeting
Tuesday, February 21, 1995
Call to Order and Roll Call
1. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Martens as 11:30 AM.
2. Messrs. Killen, Martens and Colton and Mrs. Arp answered the roll call. The mayor declared
that a quorum was present. Staff members present were City Manager Gary Shimun, City
Attorney Ted Burton, City Clerk/Treasurer Jim Henderson and Public Works Director Bill
Keating. Mr. Eckhardt arrived at 11:45 AM.
Long Range Planning Discussion
3. Mr. Keating presented a departmental report for Public Works, Streets, Water and Sewer.
4. Mr. Kennedy, and four high school students calling themselves the "Sewage Sisters" were
present to discuss an alternative to the "Maki Alternative" and the possibility of the City funding
the travel of Biotech Grassner engineers to McCall to prepare a proposal. Mr. Shimun noted that
EPA has not approved this technology but the DEQ was willing to split the cost of the travel to
learn more about the biocoil technology. The council, by consensus, agreed to table the matter
until the regular meeting on February 23.
City Manager Evaluation
5. The council noted a report on the City Manager Department budget. By consensus, this matter
was also tabled until February 23.
Adjournment
6. Without further business, Mr. Eckhardt moved to adjourn. Mrs. Arp seconded and the motion
carried. The council adjourned at 1:15 PM.
