Minutes- Special Session
Monday, April, 9 2001
7:00 p.m.
Members in Attendance: Mace Terry, Becky Harlan, Leslie Hanson, and Rod
Weinshenk
1. Call To Order: The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.by Mace Terry
2. Approval of Minutes: L. Hanson made a motion to approve the minutes from
March 7, 2001 and April 4, 2001 with a second by B. Harlan. The motion passed.
3. Public Input: There was no public input
4. Greencastle Jaycees: Rod reported that he is heading up the Fishing Derby on June
2.
5. Greencastle Meri s Softball League: Rod reported that softball will be starting at
the end of May.
6. Special Projects and Old Business:
a. Park Maintenance Building Project: Rod reported that they should be wrapping
things up this weekend or the end of next week. There is a possible problem with
a sewer line that serves the house and the whole line may need to be replaced.
The board gave Rod permission to go ahead and do what was necessary.
b. Skatepark Project: Mace reported that the Skatepark Committee would like
help in finding a temporary location for skateboarding this summer. They
wanted to know if it would be possible to fence off one of the tennis courts.
Other possible ideas were discussed and the board will continue the discussion
at the next meeting.
c. Rock Wall Project: Leslie reported that the rock wall repair run-through went
very well and the group plans to continue the repairs at a future date.
7. New Business: Rod reported that the floor under the upstairs toilet in the park
houseneds to eLe?1 He thinks it will cost between$300 and$400. Also
the e le s and i l need to be repaired. Rod will get the repairs taken
care of.
8. Director's Report: Rod reviewed his written report. He would like to have
some work done on the castle playground to make it handicap accessible but
will have to wait to see if our budget can tolerate the cost of the repair. Rod also
reported that the Easter Egg Hunt was a success except for a slight mishap with
