Minutes -Regular Session
Wednesday,November 7, 2001
7:00 p.m.
Members in Attendance: Becky Harlan, Mace Terry, Leslie Hanson, Rod Weinshenk,
Jeff McCall, and Mark Hammer
1. Call To Order: The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by M. Terry.
2. Approval of Minutes: L. Hanson made a motion to approve the minutes from
the October regular meeting with one change—the name Kelly Mandelco should
be Rachel Mandelco. The motion was seconded by B. Harlan and passed.
3. Monthly Claims: B. Harlan made a motion to approve the claim docket. It was
seconded by L. Hanson. The motion passed.
4. Public Input: There was no public input
5. Special Projects and Old Business:
,0"'s, a. Emerald Palace: Sanding, mulching and sealing of the playground will be done
on Saturday,Nov. 10th from 10:30—3:00. Lynn Wilson stated that volunteers are
still needed.
b. Skatepark Project: L. Hanson said that she would still like to pursue the Jones
School site as a possible location for the skatepark. She will bring it up at the
Skatepark meeting later this evening.
c. People Pathways: The board decided and Rod agreed that the department would
be responsible for maintaining the Fillmore pathway up to 300S.
6. New Business
a. Full-Time Park Maintenance Position: B. Harlan made a motion to hire David
Bault for the maintenance position. L. Hanson seconded the motion.
b. Master Plan Discussion: Rod reported that he has scheduled a person from DNR
to come to our December meeting to speak about updating our master plan.
7. Director's Report: Rod reviewed his written report. He reminded us that our retreat
is scheduled for Saturday, November 10 from 9:00 a.m. —Noon.

8. Public Hearing: The board unanimously passed Resolution No. 2001-2—a resolution
for additional appropriation of the Park District Refunding Bond of 2001.
9. L. Hansonlnade a motion to adjourn the meeting, which was seconded by
. Ilan. The motion passed
